Growing Specimen Plants
by Mr. Ervin Granier

Mr. Granier is a hobbiest who has 62 AOS awards to his credit, 15 of which are cultural awards. He is a retired Chemist/Chemical Engineer, whose collection consists primarily of Dendrobiums and Cattleyas which he grows in a 2,400 sq. ft. greenhouse. He is considered by some to be one of the leading hybridizers of 'blue' Cattleyas.

We enjoyed this informative presentation, with slides of many of Mr. Granier's award-winning orchids, and the opportunity to purchase some blue Cattleyas.

Click here to visit Mr. Granier's web site, with many photos of his beautiful orchids.

Here are 2 of the Granier's blue hybrids that CCOS members were able to purchase.

Lawrence Walker took the prize of best Show & Tell orchid with this lovely Oncidium intergeneric.
