A
Charleston Garden of Orchids,
Coastal Carolina Orchid Society's first orchid show in
many years, was a resounding success!

At
Citadel Mall February 28 through March 1, 2003, our society hosted
orchid societies and vendors from all over the southeast.
We
had a total of 12 outstanding displays set up by six societies and
six orchid growers.
Participating
vendors sold a very diverse variety of plants, and were pleased
with their sales.

Our
educational display and information table were visited frequently,
and we signed up several new members to our society, as well as
enticing many to learn more about orchids.
AOS
judging on Friday morning was intense, and there were a total of
5 AOS awards presented at the show, with one CCM (Certificate of
Cultural Merit) going to our own Linda Marshall Templeton for her
beautiful Cymbidium ‘Sweetheart Sensation’.

Many
of our members were also awarded ribbons on their entries. We received
many compliments on numerous aspects of our show, and all members
who volunteered their time and services are thanked and congratulated.

We look forward to hosting future shows, and hope that they will
be
as fun and successful as this one was!
